This Christmas Madrigal Dinner begins with the Jester inviting the guests into the hall and each guest being announced by the Town Crier. Following the processional, the Crier recites the Rules of the Manor and introduces the Lord and Lady. They offer their welcome, then the festivities continue with the entrance of the Yule Log, lighting of the candles, serving of the Wassail, toasts, and in time, the serving of the salad, main course and dessert. Interspersed with these events are ceremonial music, a madrigal concert, and several short humorous scenes where the Lord and Lady deal with the loss of the head serving wench.

After dessert, the proceedings are interrupted by the arrival of an unexpected lost visitor. In a farcical takeoff which mixes The Wizard of Oz with modern technology, Dorothy “Dot” Com begins a quest to find the World Wide Wizard so that she may return to her home, “Page.” Along the way she encounters a web of friends, including PewterMan and the Seedy Ram. The fun flies fast and furiously during this preposterously punny parody.

After Dorothy’s exit, the ceremonies conclude with a brief Christmas concert, parting words by the Jester, Lord, and Lady, and the singing of the carol “Silent Night” as the Royal Court exits.
